Frequently Asked Questions
What you’re probably wondering.
Who can enroll at Restore TECH Academy?
Must be a Texas resident, aged 18–50 years old, who hasn’t yet earned a high school diploma. There are no income, language, or background requirements. If you’re ready to finish what you started, we’re built for you.
What is required for enrollment?
You’ll need a valid state-issued I.D., proof of residence, and the name and location of your last known school.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Restore TECH Academy is a tuition-free public charter school. There is no charge for classes, books, or materials.
Is this a GED program?
No — this is an adult high school. You will earn a Texas Education Agency–recognized high school diploma, the same credential a traditional high school student receives.
However, you can enroll anytime in Restore Education’s top-rated GED program if that’s a better fit for you.
How is this different from a GED?
While a diploma and GED credential are technically considered equivalents, the Restore TECH Academy diploma is a high school diploma — the same credential offered by Texas public high school.
How long will it take to graduate?
It depends on the credits you already have. We accept transcripts from any prior school. Many students complete their remaining credits on a flexible schedule built around work and family.
Can I work while attending?
Yes. Our schedule is designed for working learners, with flexible class times. You don’t have to choose between earning a paycheck and in school.
Do you offer childcare and transportation?
We connect you to resource needs — such as temporary on-site childcare, transportation assistance, and case management — because we know these are the real barriers that keep adults from finishing school.
When does enrollment open?
Applications open in summer 2026. Classes begin August 2026. You can start your application now and we’ll contact you with next steps.
What pathways can I follow after graduation?
Every Restore TECH Academy student leaves with more than a diploma. We connect graduates to college enrollment, industry-recognized certifications, and direct hiring partners across San Antonio — so your diploma turns into a job or a degree, not a dead end.
I already have a GED — can I still come here?
Our charter school is for students who haven’t earned a diploma or GED. If you have a GED but want career certifications or college support, our parent program — Restore Education — is the right fit.
I don’t have a computer or internet at home.
No problem. We have a device lending library (laptops + Wi-Fi hotspots) and on-campus learning labs. You don’t need anything to get started.
