Common questions.
Is Restore TECH Academy really free?
Yes. 100%. There are no tuition fees, no application fees, no hidden charges. We’re a TEA-approved public charter school — funded by the state, just like any traditional high school.
How long does it take to earn my diploma?
It depends on how many credits you bring in and how many hours you can attend each week. Most students complete their diploma in 12–24 months.
Can I work while attending?
Yes — that’s why we exist. We offer flexible schedules including day, evening, and hybrid options. Most of our students work full or part-time.
I have kids. What about childcare?
We offer drop-in childcare on-site so you can attend class without scrambling for arrangements.
I don’t have a computer or internet at home.
We have a device lending library (laptops + Wi-Fi hotspots) and on-campus learning labs. You don’t need anything to get started.
I’m not a U.S. citizen. Can I still attend?
Yes. We don’t require proof of citizenship. We serve all eligible adults in our community.
How is this different from a GED?
A GED is a high school equivalency exam. A Restore TECH Academy diploma is a real high school diploma — the same credential a 17-year-old earns at any Texas public high school. Many employers and colleges treat the diploma as more credible.
I already have a GED — can I still come here?
Our charter school is for students who haven’t earned a diploma or GED. If you have a GED but want career certifications or college support, our parent program — Restore Education — is the right fit.
